Mr. Ernest Olivier
Mr Ernest Olivier, has had a long and illustrious career in the field of education. Having started of as an ordinary teacher, he moved up through the ranks to Head of Department, then Principal of Namib High School in Swakopmund, before being appointed as Inspector of Education in the Ministry of Education. Following his retirement from the civil service, he took up the reigns as Principal of the Senior Primary and High School Division at Riverside Private School in January 2019.
Mr. Olivier’s view of leadership is that it should be both effective and inspirational. He regards continuous mentoring and guidance, open communication, teamwork and the ongoing support of staff members as the core ingredients of academic success. Under the watchful eye of its principals and the School Board, Riverside Private School continues to evolve a proud tradition of academic excellence, discipline, order, hard work and dedication.

Mrs. Lynne Lindsay-Payne has devoted her life to education and family. First and foremost a proud mother of two daughters and grandmother of five, she has also distinguished herself as an accomplished sportswoman. She represented SWA in hockey and Namibia in lawn bowls for two decades, achieving her greatest sporting milestone by winning a silver medal in bowls at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Malaysia.
She received her primary education at St George’s Diocesan School in Windhoek and completed her high school years at Centaurus High School. After qualifying at Grahamstown Teacher’s Training College, she began her teaching career at Duneside Primary School. Her journey later took her to Holy Cross Convent in Windhoek, PK de Villiers High School in Keetmanshoop, and back to St George’s Diocesan School, where she taught for 30 years and eventually served as Principal.
Passionate about teaching, particularly Grade 1 learners, she has dedicated over 50 years to the profession. In 2012, she became the founding teacher and Principal of Swakopmund School of Excellence, which transitioned into Riverside Private School in 2019. Her career has been marked by commitment, vision, and an enduring love for education.
